This card was definitely out of my comfort zone. I was nervous to use brown distress ink over my stamping. But vintage fancy was the topic of the day at Online Card Classes Holiday Style! I used Neenah desert storm for the card base (I have a TON of this, but rarely use it) and […]
O Christmas Tree!
So I tried my hand at a clean and simple christmas tree card. I used the Tim Holtz Scribble Trees and I’m ready to try making more. There are so many cute trees in this set! I used Evergreen Bough Distress ink to ink up the center of the card. This took me TWO tries! […]
Tis the Season to be Jolly
Well, this card was a bunch of firsts for me. A first with all that masking (thanks to Laura Bassen), and a first using EMBOSSING PASTE!! Wow. I might just be addicted to adding embossing paste. I need to play with this more. Isn’t this card fun? I used the gnome from Paper Smooches and […]
A Very Happy Christmas (with glitter)
One more glitter card because I just could not stop! I love this background die from My Favorite Things, and it’s so fun using glitter paper with that die. That word die “Christmas” is embossed with glitter powder on the bottom and watercolored with distress inks on the top. This card was easy and a […]
Merry & Bright
I love glitter paper. Yep. I have a whole drawer just dedicated to glitter paper. So when the Holiday Card Class had a day devoted to shimmer and shine, I brought out the glitter! See that red glitter ampersand? It’s my favorite. I played around with some distress markers for the merry word and bright […]
Peace on Earth
Well Hello! I’m back with some Christmas cards to share. After a big move, my daughter and her family (including 2 granddaughters) moving in with us, my mother-in-law having a stroke, and my grandmother passing away, I am FINALLY back to posting on my blog. Whew. A big thank you to Online Holiday Card Class […]
Stretch your Dies (day 5) — Masking Stamped Images
First, stamp your stamp on masking paper. Then air brush (or use distress ink) to color the background. Remove masks, stamp your image….and Voila! This card turned out cute, I think: I popped up the sun near the bottom of the card…just for a little fun. May your days be filled with sunshine,
Stretch Your Dies (day 2) — Flower dies within a larger die
I was waiting for these flower dies to come in just so I could try this technique by Kristina Werner. May your days be filled with sunshine,
Stretch Your Dies — Masking & Dry embossing
So this was a fun idea to mask off the shape, then ink in the inside, then dry emboss the dots around the shape. I don’t know if that makes sense, but I loved making this card. I image those balloons are carrying that funny bird away! May your days be filled with sunshine,
Stretch your Dies (day 7) — Alphabet Dies
Jennifer McGuire showed us a great trick for getting alphabet dies all lined up. I was so happy…and I had to give this one a try right away. This one is a birthday card for my sister-in-law (she better not see this until after Wednesday!) I thought this one would make her smile. A […]
Hi I'm Kari. I'm a creator, a card maker, and a day maker! I am Lucky in love to a supportive husband, blessed to raise 3 kids (all moved away now!), and happy to be watched over by 2 dogs. I originally started this blog to remind me to be happy amid adversity, and I hope it inspires you, too!
